65th National Film Awards: Tulu film “Paddayi” gets National AwardAbhaya Simha directorial Tulu film “Paddayi” wins Best Tulu Feature Film award in 65th National Film Awards.


Awards have been announced by the jury headed by renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur on Friday. Winners will be felicitated with Raj Kamal Director and The Producer of the film will get reward of 1 lakh each.

The “Paddayi” is based on William Shakespeare’s novel ‘Macbeth’, plot narrated on the fishing community. Along with the direction, Abhaya Simha also has done screenplay for the film “Padday”. S Nithyananda Pai has produced the films music has been composed by renowned composer Manikanth Kadri.

Film staring Mohan Sheni, Bindu Rakshidhi, Chandrahas Ulla, Gopinath Bhat, Avinash Rai, Sadashiv N Rai Ninasam, Shrinidhi Achar, Prabhakar Kapikad, Vani Peruvodi, Ravi Bhat, Mallika and others.

36 year old, Mangalore based Director Abhaya Simha also has won National Film Award for Best Children’s Film on 56th National Film Awards (2010) for Kannada film ‘Gubbachigalu’. He also directed Kannada-Malayalam bilingual film named “Shikari” with superstar Mamooty and his third film was in Kannada ‘Sakkare’ which is starring Ganesh.
