B. R. Chaya the ‘Nightingale of Karnataka’ holds a record of lending her voice in numerous Tulu numbers including filmy, non-filmy. Most of them tend to begin their day listening to devotional songs sung by B R Chaya. She is been recognized in Tulunadu after the super hit title song of Guddada Bootha Kannada series “Dennana Dennana”.


B. R. Chaya has sung over 2000 songs in Tulu Language which includes devotional songs, pops, filmy and non-filmy number, songs of Pettayi Pili, Maari Bale, Badkere Budle etc. “I am so lucky that I got an opportunity to sing almost all devotional song which belongs to different temples around Mangalore” she says.

When we asked about favourite Mangaloren dish she said “I am a pure vegetarian, but I love Mangaloren dish which made out of cashew and Ivy Gourd”. “If I get an opportunity, I would love to sing in Tulu cinemas” she said when we asked about singing in Tulu Cinema”. She added saying “Early days one or two movies where releasing in a year, I am so happy to know about list of Tulu Cinemas getting released so often, I wish Tulu Industry grow more and more”.

B. R. Chaya, lend her voice in plentiful languages including Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Tamil, Telugu, Dakhini, Kodava etc. She has a privilege of singing in more than 300 films and 15000 non-filmy songs which comprises of Kannada patriotic songs, Kannada Bhagavath Geetha, Nursery rhymes, Jaanapada Geetha and Numerous devotional songs in several languages as well as Tulu.
